More Robots for Less Investment: The Rise of Robotics-As-A-Service
Robotics-as-a-service (RAAS) solves two problems facing many businesses today.
Read MoreE.L.S.A (Everything Lives Somewhere Appropriate) is a machine learning platform designed to classify SKUs and evaluate how well they fit into an array of potential storage and automation systems. After scoring each SKU, E.L.S.A is able to identify the combinations of these systems likely to best-fit your data to prioritise D.I.D.O’s onwards analysis
C.L.A.R.A (Creates Layouts Analytically, Rearranging Adaptively) is an artificially intelligent platform, trained to create warehouse designs following similar, but enhanced methods and logic as human designers. However, C.L.A.R.A can create complex layouts in milliseconds and design 1000s of layouts in a fraction of the time it takes a human designer to create one. C.L.A.R.A takes a suggested system from E.L.S.A, and extrapolates it into a workable conceptual design, accounting for the site specific constraints, and looking to optimise capacity and space utilisation.
DIDO’s autonomous design capability, eliminates significant design time, allowing SEC to not simply consider one or two options, as a human operative may be able to, but tens of thousands of solutions. Furthermore, it also allows customers to engage with the design process to consider the impacts of different potential futures, or changes in operational requirements over time. These alternative scenarios would then lead to a new optimal design being devised and put forward to the client – and allow SEC to consider the robustness of each option to each potential future.
DIDO is also capable of taking the design process a step further by generating a full virtual twin of the solution, visualised in a stunning, near photo-realistic 3D model. This model can be used to create 3D videos or renders and can be integrated into SEC’s Extended Reality (XR) engine.
SEC XR enables the creation of Virtual Reality models that users can walk around and interact with, including picking up boxes and testing processes. Using Virtual Reality technology, this fully immersive experience allows clients to explore their future warehouse space to ensure it meets their expectations and operational requirements.
DIDO is a truly revolutionary concept in warehouse design and has been extensively acknowledged through recent industry award wins and nominations, including:
The entry for this year’s ‘Technology Company of the Year’ award centred on SEC Storage’s ground-breaking Artificially Intelligent design platform, DIDO (Data In, Design Out), which tackles logistics industry challenges head-on. By employing cutting-edge technologies such as Machine Learning, Virtual Twins, and Extended Reality, DIDO offers a transformative approach to designing optimal warehouses tailored to clients’ unique needs and strategic objectives.
