As a leading producer of instant coffee, Cafea is proud of its 100-year history, with each product packed with tradition, experience, care and conscience. Today Cafea UK offers a full range of coffee and chocolate products in a huge range of varieties and packaging formats.

From their Bedfordshire factory, they produce and refine their product range to deliver the very best coffee to their customers. Their dedicated team of experts source the optimal coffee beans from high quality global farmers, then produce the perfect coffee to match their customers’ private label requirements.

A Tasting Room Reimagined

The project required a full redesign and refurbishment of their existing tasting room to include a sleek and stylish island for tasting, a range of product display areas, and enhanced storage capacity through a combination of drawers and cupboards so each tasting session would be more streamlined and efficient, with everything to hand.

The look and feel of the new tasting room was critically important as this was their main area to showcase their range of quality coffees to large retailers. The space needed to appeal to their customers through a modern and professional design yet be practical for everyday use.

Merging Design and Functionality

The SEC design has incorporated a number of stylish features to optimise the available space. Of particular focus for the SEC design was the central island. The dimensions needed to allow for several people to taste products at the same time in comfort and incorporate both a central trough and sink with a grate.

The integration of the grate created more usable space around the island, particularly useful for displaying the products to be sampled by their customers. The sink is fully plumbed in which enhances the tasting experience, with excess liquid discreetly removed.

The colour scheme used in the contemporary design takes reference from their corporate branding, with stylish orange lighting a central feature of the room.
