D.I.D.O is our ground-breaking AI-driven platform that leverages the power of data, analytics, and intelligent automation to design the optimal warehouse, and ensure it stays that way.

Warehouse Intelligence

Fast, efficient and robust warehouse systems that don’t require weeks of design work or continuous adjustment. That’s what we deliver with DIDO, our ground-breaking warehouse intelligence platform.

By harnessing the power of artificial intelligence, your business data is combined with intelligent automation, resulting in the design of your ideal warehouse. It’s not just the ideal solution for today, it’s also designed to stay optimised into the future.

Our clients are already enjoying the benefit of this revolution in the warehouse design process.

Prioritise productivity, eliminate inefficiency

Find better solutions to common warehouse problems, and do it faster, using AI-enabled warehouse design. Issues that DIDO, our warehouse intelligence platform, helps you solve include:

  • Poor prioritisation of warehouse tasks
  • Bottlenecks at key process points
  • Losing track of inventory location
  • Double or triple handling
  • Damage or loss of stock
  • Picking errors

Every one of these issues pushes up costs for your business and risks damaging customer satisfaction. In any industry, efficient warehouse operations strengthen productivity and contribute to profitability.

Intelligent warehousing in line with your strategic objectives

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer to the challenge of implementing the optimised warehouse. Our DIDO warehouse intelligence platform takes this into account, as it analyses and designs the warehouse for your operational needs.

Factors that DIDO takes into consideration in its analysis include:

  • The size of your workforce
  • Order and fulfilment history
  • Your core business processes
  • Strategic plans for your business
  • The size, shape and volume of products handled in your warehouse

The power of AI allows us to take into account detailed information about an individual product, through to high-level commercial objectives for your organisation. The result is a warehouse operation that delivers what your business requires, helping you achieve your strategic goals.

Warehouse intelligence for smaller businesses

A growing number of small and medium-sized enterprises are now taking advantage of the latest technologies and innovations in warehousing and logistics. The integration of robotics, warehouse management systems and real-time information is no longer restricted to firms with big budgets.

DIDO allows us to bring AI and digital automation to supply chain management for organisations of all sizes. We’re helping support their mission to become more productive in today’s competitive environment.

How DIDO turns raw data into efficient designs

The power of DIDO is its capacity to process and analyse huge volumes of data, fast. It’s a suite of software applications that operate in collaboration to find the best possible warehouse designs. It’s an innovative answer to the problem of decision-making in a complex logistics environment.

DIDO does not remove human decision-making from the final warehouse design. It automates the process of problem-solving by taking every variable into account, and exploring every possibility, at a speed and in a volume impossible for human designers. The final, optimised, designs are reviewed and revised by a team with extensive experience and skill in warehouse intelligence and design.

DIDO - Data In, Design Out

DIDO captures your operational data to create precise, strategically aligned warehouse designs.

DIDO evaluates thousands of layout options, extremely fast, optimising for efficiency and accessibility.

DIDO creates 3D models, allowing interactive virtual walk-throughs, testing and tweaking before anything is implemented.

The DIDO process explained

To achieve optimised designs, DIDO manages the collaboration between three subsidiary AI-enabled platforms, ELSA, CLARA and ELISA. The process is overseen by our logistics experts.

DIDO's AI Platforms

  • ELSA
  • CLARA
  • ELISA

Machine Learning & Simulation Classification Platform

ELSA – Everything Lives Somewhere Appropriate – uses machine learning to categorise every stock-keeping unit (SKU) based on picking and storage needs.

  • Classifies products into categories for efficient storage and retrieval.
  • Analyses compatibility of items with different warehouse configurations.
  • Supports high-level SKU analysis for optimised layout design.

ELSA’s categorisation ensures the best layout by aligning SKU storage with delivery and picking patterns. This provides the data relied upon by subsequent design stages.

ELSA

Ultra-Quick, Artificially Intelligent Design Bot

CLARA – Creates Layouts Algorithmically and Rearranges Accordingly – autonomously generates warehouse designs, incorporating the insights provided by ELSA.

  • Produces thousands of layouts that optimise space and efficiency.
  • Adapts warehouse designs for structural constraints like columns and roofs.
  • Creates a digital twin for each layout to enhance accuracy.

CLARA’s layout designs streamline warehouse flow, using algorithms to balance efficiency and space utilisation, and helping ensure an ideal layout before implementation.

CLARA

Simulation & Comparison Tool

ELISA – Ensures Layout Is Strategically Aligned – simulates and scores each warehouse design based on operational data.

  • Runs simulations to test layout performance under real conditions
  • Scores designs on KPIs, aligning with strategic goals and maximising ROI
  • Helps DIDO iteratively refine designs for optimal performance

ELISA validates each layout, ensuring it meets operational and strategic benchmarks and continuously informs the best-fit design choice.

ELISA

The DIDO process

The first platform, ELSA, uses machine learning to classify every SKU into six bands of products that have similar picking location needs. It’s a very sophisticated ABC analysis that ensures that we place fast-moving products into larger apertures and slow-moving ones into smaller apertures.

DIDO then passes the data to CLARA, an AI design bot trained to quickly and accurately design warehouses. CLARA develops a layout based on ELSA’s analysis.

This layout is passed to ELISA, which creates a simulation of how the design would operate in the real world, based on the information provided. Once the simulation is complete, ELISA calculates performance metrics and combines this with strategic objective ‘weightings’ completed earlier to create a “Design Score” out of 100, indicating this system’s overall success. This process is repeated, over and over, with DIDO learning from each design. The outcome is an optimised design – the one with the highest score. This optimal design is then turned into a precise virtual twin, which we can visualise in Virtual, Augmented or Rendered Reality using SEC XR, our Extended Reality engine. You can literally walk through the warehouse, in virtual form, to see how it will look and operate. Ultimately, through the combination of Machine Learning, AI Simulation and Extended Reality technology, we can ensure that we deliver THE optimal design, ideally suited to an operation’s specific strategic and operational requirements.

What is SEC XR

SEC XR is SEC’s Extended Reality Engine, that incorporates 3D design renders, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality capability, for a fully immersive warehouse design experience.

We developed SEC XR to support our award-winning DIDO platform – Data In, Design Out – which harnesses cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and virtual reality to revolutionise the warehouse design process.

Integrating SEC XR into the DIDO platform, allows users to visualise the design solution and enhance the decision making process around infrastructure to make them safer and more efficient.
